Departure Pets are able to coordinate details in order to comply with New Zealand’s strict country entry pet travel requirements. One of the ways in which New Zealand’s MPI help protect national territory is by requiring a series of testing and treatments to be completed for dogs and cats entering New Zealand. 

• All cats and dogs will need to be treated with an approved internal and external parasite treatment.
• All dogs over 6 months of age at the date of arrival into NZ will need to be tested for and return a negative result for heart-worm. 
• All dogs need to be tested for and return a negative result for Babesia Gibsoni with very strict testing requirements and vetting timelines.
